  • 1 - Claim a domain name

    The very first step is to see if your domain name is still available. Also think about the extension; a .com or e.g. a .nl domain name. Have you found a domain name that is still available? Claim it quickly and register your domain name with us.

  • 2 - Select web hosting package

    After you have claimed your domain name, it is time to add a web hosting package that is suitable for WordPress. At Terdis Webhosting we carefully have three Web Hosting Packages composed.

    As soon as you have ordered your domain name and web hosting package, you will receive an email with all login details. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours before a new domain name is really live.

  • 3 - Install SSL Certificate

    After you have logged in to our web hosting, you can install the free SSL Certificate. You can log in to your web hosting package here here.

    In addition to an SSL Certificate being important for your Google rating, you also ensure that your connection and data are secured.

    The SSL Certificate can be found under the heading "Advanced Features" and is called "SSL Certificates". Click on this and indicate that you want to have the certificate installed on your domain name. You only have to do this once, the renewal of your certificate is done fully automatically.

  • 4 - Install WordPress with 1 click

    Now it is time to install WordPress on your domain name. Make sure you are logged in to your web hosting package.

    Under the heading "Web Application" you will see the WordPress icon. Click on this and then on "Install this application" to start the installation of WordPress.

    After clicking this you will be asked where you want the WordPress installed. At "Domain" you select your domain name, but beware! but with https:// before. This ensures that the SSL Certificate works on your website.

    You can leave the "Directory" field empty. Go through the other fields to also enter your desired username and password and then click on "Install".

    ...And finished! You have now successfully installed WordPress on your domain name. You will automatically receive an email with all the details.

  • 5 - Install theme and plugins

    To log in to WordPress, use your chosen username in combination with your chosen password. The WordPress dashboard can be reached at this url: https: // {domainname.com} / wp-admin. Mind you, replace {domainname.com} with your domain name.

    If you have logged in to WordPress, you will be taken to the WordPress dashboard. In this dashboard you will find a menu on the left: this is the main menu of WordPress that you will use every day to customize and manage your website.

    WordPress biedt talloze website templates aan waaruit je kunt kiezen. De een gratis en de ander betaald. Onder het menukopje "Weergave" -> "Thema's" kun je deze aanpassen en installeren.

    Wij raden iedere beginner aan om de plugin Elementor te installeren. Hiermee kan je jouw pagina's eenvoudig via het bekende Drag and Drop systeem inrichten. Deze installeer je onder het menukopje "Plugin" -> Nieuwe plugin" -> Type hier in het zoekveld "Elementor" en klik op "installeren". Na de installatie kun je de plugin "Activeren" en jouw pagina's met Elementor bewerken.

    Another plugin that should not be missed is "Yoast", this plugin is highly recommended for SEO purposes.

  • 6 - Set up and publish the website

    Are you completely satisfied with the appearance of your website? With one click you have published your website and are live to be found by visitors.
